Courses are held monthly from our Plymouth based Maritime Training centre.

Basic Training consists of 4 elements:
Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities (PSSR)
Elementary First Aid
Personal Survival Techniques
Fire Prevention & FIre Fighting

Who needs STCW Basic Training
All sorts of people, if you’re employed to work on a boat it is more than likely that you will be required to have completed the MCA STCW Basic Training. Our students have included superyacht crew from hostesses to engineers, cruise ship employees such as hairdressers and dancers, commercial fishing boat crews and commercial ship crews.
If you’re looking to have your RYA certificate Commercially Endorsed, completion of the STCW Basic Training will allow you to have the STCW wording added to your Commercial Endorsement which is Internationally recognised and in some cases required by Port Authorities.
Other MCA Courses
We also offer Master 200 oral preparation, Boatmaster Licence preparation and Yacht Rating courses either at our Plymouth Maritime Training Centre or at a base near you.
We specialise in training for people looking to work in the marine industry, complimenting our range of MCA STCW courses is our full range of RYA courses including Yachtmaster Sail/power preparation and exams, Cruising/Yachtmaster Instructor, Advanced Powerboat and Powerboat Level 2 which can be commercially endorsed and is a useful qualification for potential Superyacht crews to have.
Our training base in Plymouth is easy to get to by train or car from anywhere in the South West, Devon, Cornwall, Dorset and Somerset, The Midlands, Birmingham, Wales and London. Students regularly fly to Bristol from Italy, Portugal and Turkey to attend our courses.
