RYA Yachtmaster Power

Description:

5 days. (4+1 for exam) There is no fixed syllabus for this course and we try to work on areas that you need to work on and that the examiners tend to look at during the exam. We go through usual preparation subjects such as radar, boat handling, day and night pilotage, passage making, meteorology, IRPCS, engines, emergencies and using tides.

The maximum number of students on the course is 4. If there are only 2 students, the course will be run over 3 days instead of 4 and if you'd prefer 1:1 tuition, the course will be 2 days however there will be an additional charter fee of £200 for the exam day.

There is an addition £210 exam fee payable to the RYA.

Previous seatime and qualifications: 50 days sea time, 5 days as skipper, 2500 miles, 5 passages over 60 miles including 2 as skipper and 2 overnight (half the seatime must be in tidal waters). VHF/SRC licence, STCW or RYA First Aid certificate.
Assumed knowledge: Navigation to Coastal/Yachtmaster shore based standard.
