ISM DSM Designated and Nominated Person
Description:
To introduce the concepts of the responsibilities for a Designated Person within a safety management system. It covers requirements from the International Safety Management Code, Domestic Safety management (MGN 536), Code vessel and requirements under the Intended Pleasure Vessel Code.
knowledge and understanding of the ISM/DSM Code;
mandatory rules and regulations;
applicable codes, guidelines and standards;
assessment techniques of examining, questioning, evaluating and reporting;
technical or operational aspects of safety management;
knowledge of shipping and shipboard operations;
participation in a Management System Audit;
effective communications with shipboard staff and senior management.
