Various employers looking for Apprentices either for Small Commercial Vessels or Boatmasters
SeaRegs Training provides the training for a number of maritime Apprenticeships, we do not employ the apprentices ourselves but often have Employers looking to recruit potential apprentices. This advert is for information only about apprenticeships, not an actual job. Any job adverts will be listed separately.
Apprenticeships are open to anyone over the age of 16 years old, however some employers require apprentices to be over 18 due to the shift patterns and working away from home requirements. You will need a minimum of English and Maths GCSE (or equivalent) grade C or level 4 to apply. There is also a requirement to pass a seafarer medical.
The roles are based around England and may involve staying on board a vessel whilst operational or they are based from a home port.
You will spend 20% of your apprenticeship training, and 80% on the job, and will be paid 100% of the time.
On successful completion of the apprenticeship, there may be opportunities to become a permanent member of a vessel crew, with higher performing candidates given the opportunity to apply for higher ranking positions.
