One of the two modules of the Level 3 Award in Maritime Studies: Use of Radar and Electronic Chart Systems in Code Vessels. The award meets the training requirements of the Workboat Code Edition 2, and its content is similar to the MCA Small Ships Navigation and Radar course.

Pre-requisites: Previous navigational experience to Day Skipper standard. Previous seagoing experience and seatime fulfilling MCA’s requirements for Commercial Vessels.
Duration: 2 1/2 days
Course content: Use of Electronic chart systems, interpreting information presented, understanding the capability of Electronic Chart Systems and the dangers of over reliance as well as the rules regarding the use.
