This 2-day course is for leisure and professional boaters wanting to undertake more adventurous trips. It includes navigation by day and night, weather and other aspects of skippering a small boat on more challenging passages in coastal waters. Anybody undertaking this course must have the practical skills of the Intermediate course and knowledge of navigation to at least the standard of the Yachtmaster Coastal/Offshore shorebased course. Students taking the Advanced course must hold a VHF/SRC operators certificate and a valid / in-date first aid certificate if looking to also complete the Advanced Powerboat CoC Exam (not included within this course).
If successful with this course, you will receive an RYA photocard certificate. Please note this cannot be commercially endorsed.
If you wish to also book the RYA Advanced Powerboat CoC Exam, we run an additional day of consolidation and exam preparation ahead of the Certificate of Competence exam that takes place directly after this 2-day course. Once successfully passed, the CoC can be commercially endorsed.
If you only require the 1-day prep and exam, please do not book this course, and instead look for our "RYA Advanced Powerboat Prep and Exam".
Both the 2-day course completion and the 1-day prep and exam can be booked together at a package rate of £525 inc VAT. Please contact the office if interested.
