What is MCA STCW Basic Training?
MCA STCW Basic Training encompasses four elements of courses. These courses arm you with an understanding in firefighting and the use of fire fighting equipment; reacting to emergency situations and evacuation procedures; sea survival and safety at sea; and first aid knowledge.
Please note we are not able to provide the STCW Basic Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting module.
Are there any pre-course requirements?
No. Although for the Survival, you should feel fit enough to attend and complete a two hour pool session. We do offer lunch and lots of tea and coffee throughout the day, to keep you going. If you have any concerns, please contact us.
There is also the same fitness consideration for the Fire training, which we do not provide.
Our classroom is located in Turnchapel Wharf in Plymouth with easy access to the major routes from Devon and Cornwall being about 15 minutes from the A38. To the East, the end of the M5 at Exeter is just under 55 minutes away and to the West Falmouth is under 2 hours.
