MLC Food Safety Level 2 for the Maritime Industry

Under the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) Minimum Requirements Regulations all ships’ cooks and other persons processing food in the galley are to be suitably qualified in food hygiene or food safety in Catering.

Level 2 is the minimum acceptable level for catering staff and persons processing food in the galley. There are no online courses recognised as meeting the assessment criteria and learning outcomes set out in MSN 1846.

SeaRegs Training has accreditation from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) for the Level 2 in Food Safety which fulfils the MCA and MLC requirements. Our course has been tailored for the maritime industry and integrates code vessel, MLC and Code of Safe Working Practices requirements.
